On 12 February 2018 the President of the Republic of Poland signed the Act of 26 January 2018 amending the Act on insurance distribution. On 15 February 2018 the legal act was published in the Journal of Laws in position 378. The Act entered into force on 16 February 2018.
The Administrative Court in Warsaw in its judgment of 16 February 2018 (ref. no VI SA/Wa 2124/17) ruled that Michał Kwieciński, former AXA CEO, is a party to the proceedings in a dispute with the Financial Supervision Advisory.
UOKiK received complaints that banks charge fees for debit cards, even though in a given settlement period, a consumer made card payments at the required number or value of transactions. Due to these signals, UOKiK reviewed the practices of 18 banks, of which 13 caused concerns.
On 27 March 2018 the Supreme Court of the Republic of Poland is going to answer a legal question prepared by the Financial Ombudsman about compensation to family members of heavy injured people in car accidents.
